LIFE AT SEA · DECK LOG

Rough Water

The sea occasionally changes the choreography. A door closes, a glass slides, an itinerary changes, and the horizon reminds everybody who is in charge of the weather. The first lesson is practical. The second is emotional.

The practical question

Follow crew guidance, secure loose items, choose stable spaces, hydrate, and rest. If plans change, keep the spirit of the day while changing the route. A canceled port can become a shipboard story if you stop asking the sea to apologize.

Deck note

Flexibility is not surrender. It is a travel skill.
